Lake Semerwater


Lake Semerwater lies in just a 2-3 minute drive from the campsite, in the heart of Raydale and is the source of The River Bain 


The lake hosts coarse and wild brown trout fishing, canoeing, sailing, paddle boarding and windsurfing, as all as the perfect by the water picnic spot.

Cycling

The Yorkshire Dales is world famous for its cycling, previously hosting The Tour de France, Tour de Yorkshire & the UCI World Championship. 


On The Road - We have a huge range of routes on our doorstep from gentle rolling hills down through the dales to famous climbs including Buttertubs, Fleet Moss and Tan Hill to name a few 


Mountain Biking -  The Dales are known as one of the UK’s finest adventurous mountain biking areas. With more than 900 km of bridleways, byways and green lanes to explore, often taking you up into remote moorland. Take on tough climbs and technical descents, all in remote, unspoilt countryside. 


Bikes can be hired from rental shops in local towns 

Walking / Hiking

 The Yorkshire Dales is a fabulous place to go walking whether you are looking for a gentle riverside stroll or a hike on a wild and empty moorland. 


We have routes and maps available on site, starting and finishing right here 


Yorkshire 3 Peaks - With Pen-y-Ghent, Inbgleborough and Whernside  within driving distance, the 3 peaks is a fantastic challenge to take on during in your stay

 The Strangest Place in the World


The Forbidden Corner is a unique labryrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises created within a 4 acre garden in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales

Local Market Towns

  

 Be sure to take a trip to some of our unique towns and villages, set by the hills of the Dales and situated close to scenic waterfalls, limestone scars, caves and woodland walks, and surrounded by classic routes and walks. The towns of Hawes, Leyburn, Muker and Askrigg are all close by
